raindance ??? never heard of them…  is the most common thing said, unless you’ve seen us perform at a friends Wedding – and even then you may not have paid that much attention – just had a great night.  But when the time comes to get married it should be hopefully hard to get away from the name raindance as we tend to pop up on Hotel lists, Wedding forums, and mainly right here on the internet.

So who exactly are raindance? … Well raindance are a four piece Galway Wedding Band, that travel all over Ireland to play at Weddings, bringing their particular blend of entertainment, music, humour and banter to each and every occasion.

The Band is consists of Keyboards, Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar and Drums – with three main vocals, covering a vast selection of music from the traditional “Irish & Country” Wedding material, right up to current chart music, from artists such as Pharrell Williams, Avicii and Daft Punk – to name but a few… and to review the full set list, visit our setlist page.

Most Brides and Grooms these days want the same thing from any band… great music and the ability to entertain their family and friends – and to make their day the best it can be. They want their band to have the ability to knock out all the current hits on the night… Songs like “Blurred Lines”, “Wake Me Up”, right through to oldies like “Thunderstruck” … and are content once a band can throw in a few Waltzes and a bit of Country Music for the elderly guests to boot. raindance tick all these boxes… performing each and every song with the highest of quality and enthusiasm.

With this in mind – invite you to take the raindance challenge:

Come and hear raindance perform the music you want to hear…  LIVE… between the hours of 11pm and 12am at ANY wedding – and we defy you not to be impressed at the way we work the crowd – and produce the top class, high quality music you want for your wedding.

   Cormac             Mike              Ollie             Paul

 On Drums: Cormac

Cormac has played with numerous bands during his illustrious career, but most noticably is the original drummer with The Stunning. Cormac has performed on many recorded tracks with such other artists as: Ultan Conolon, Roesy, and Sean Keane to name but a few. Cormac is highly regarded on the professional music scene as being one the foremost session drummers, and one the happiest people you may ever meet in your life…

On Lead Guitar: Mike

Mike is highly regarded as one of Galways foremost naturally fluent guitar players. Mike is a technical guitar player capable of knocking out all the biggest rock solos, as well as playing Traditional Irish leads, and has the highest vocal range of raindance’s three lead vocals – and is the guy you’ll see performing on the tables at Weddiings. Mike has performed with many noted Galway bands over the years before joining the band in 2007 – and has never looked back, since joining our raindance family.

On Keyboards: Ollie

Ollie is the deep voice of raindance as well as the MC for the evening, and the Band’s Dj. Ollie performed in a Galway Trad band for years, and is now able to bring all his experience of Waltzing, Jiving and Ceili to compliment the bands huge range of Rock and Pop. Ollie is helping push the band into the 21st Century with the aid of the very latest Roland keyboard, which allows the band to undertake all of the current chart toppers from artists such as: Nicki Minaj, David Guetta, LMFAO, Avicii, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz and The Black Eyed Peas with exact CD quality sounds.

On Bass Guitar: Paul

Paul is one of Galway’s finest and most technical bass guitar players, and again has been on the Galway band scene for many years before getting sense, and joining raindance … Paul is known as “Ireland’s finest white rapper” by some drunk girl in Monroe’s Live last week – but is indeed the grainy voice of the band, knocking out “Thunderstruck” and “Sweet Child O’ Mine” on a nightly basis, and well as rapping the songs of: Pitbull and Flo Rida, as well as House of Pain’s “Jump Around” – allowing the band to cover every possible music genre.
